LINTHICUM, Md. - Maryland State Police say they have a more complete description of an armed man who smashed the windshield of a contractor's vehicle on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, closing the highway for hours.
Police described the man as white, about 6 feet tall, and between 200 and 220 pounds, possibly with a pot belly. He is thought to have been wearing a red and blue plaid shirt, blue jeans and clear glasses. He appeared to be in his 50s or 60s and was possibly wearing or carrying a dark-colored backpack
Police say the man tapped his shotgun on the rear window of the vehicle parked Wednesday near a construction site. When the contractor inside honked his horn, the man smashed the windshield with a hammer.
Police think that after the incident, the suspect walked back through the woods to a parking lot in the 1300 block of Concourse Road, where there are a number of businesses. The man may have left the area in a vehicle, police say.
Anyone who may have seen the man is asked to call state police at 410-761-5130.
