RIVERDALE PARK, Md. - Whole Foods plans to build its first store in Prince George's County.
The high-end store will be part of a planned development on Route 1 in Riverdale Park.
The store would anchor a development of shops on 36 acres.
Riverdale Park Mayor Vernon Archer says the size of the development concerns some people who are worried about congestion on busy Route 1.
University Park Mayor John Rogard Tabori says he's worried the area won't be able to support Whole Foods. Yes! Organic Market is expected to open by the end of the summer.
Whole Foods tells The Examiner the store could open as soon as 2014.
