NEWARK, Del. (AP) - High-speed E-ZPass lanes have opened at the Interstate 95 toll plaza in Newark just in time for the holiday weekend.
Delaware Department of Transportation spokesman Mike Williams tells The News Journal of Wilmington, Del., that two lanes in each direction opened for business on Monday. Electronic transponders allow vehicles traveling in the lanes to be read without having to slow down.
Williams says drivers should notice a more "comfortable" ride through the plaza.
AAA Mid-Atlantic predicts more than 100,000 Delawareans will travel 50 miles or more from their home between June 30 and July 4.
