INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Pacers coach Frank Vogel hopes to fill the vacancy on his coaching staff quickly.

Less than 15 hours after word leaked that Vogel's top assistant, Brian Shaw, had been hired as Denver's new head coach, Vogel told reporters Tuesday that he's already got a list of potential candidates to replace him.

The news broke three days before the NBA draft and less than a week till free agency opens.

Vogel is looking for someone who fits in with this young team that has steadily improved throughout Vogel's tenure. The Pacers made the playoffs in 2011, won a first-round series in 2012 and pushed two-time NBA champion Miami to Game 7 in this year's Eastern Conference finals.
