NBA stars set to shine...Daytona 500 pole is up for grabs...Tennis results

HOUSTON (AP) -- The NBA All-Star game is taking place tonight in Houston. The best of the West are facing the best of the East in the 62nd All-Star encounter.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Danica Patrick had the fastest time in practice yesterday for the Daytona 500. Today the qualifying is taking place for the pole position. The race itself will take place on Feb. 24.

DOHA, Qatar (AP) -- Defending champion Victoria Azarenka (ah-zah-REN'-kuh) beat Serena Williams 7-6, 2-6, 6-3 to win the Qatar (GUH'-tur) Open today. She has now won 16 career titles. The win also put an end to a 10-match losing streak against the Williams.

SAO PAULO (AP) -- Rafael Nadal (rah-fay-ehl nah-DAHL') beat David Nalbandian (nal-BAN'-dee-uhn) 6-2, 6-3 in the Brazil Open final, winning his first title since returning from a seven-month layoff to treat his left knee. Nadal is now a two-time winner of the event.

SCHLADMING, Austria (AP) -- The 2015 world skiing championships will take place in Colorado. The medal events will take place in Beaver Creek with the team event and qualifying races in nearby Vail.
