PGA returns to Pebble Beach...Jayhawks upset...NBA notes and schedule

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (AP) -- One of the more popular events on the PGA schedule starts today. It's the Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the defending champion is Phil Mickelson, the winner of last week's stop in Phoenix.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -- Kansas was the highest-ranked team in action last night in men's basketball and the fifth-ranked Jayhawks were beaten at TCU, 62-55. Garlon Green led the way for the Horned Frogs with 20 points. TCU's defense held Kansas to just 13 points in the first half.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (AP) -- Playing in front of the hometown fans, the Oklahoma City Thunder ran all over Golden State last night, winning 119-98. Kevin Durant had 25 points in the win while Russell Westbrook added 22.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) -- Pau Gasol (POW guh-SAWL') of the Lakers has been diagnosed with a tear of the plantar fascia of his right foot and could be out four to six weeks. The results of tests are still being looked at by team doctors.

UNDATED (AP) -- There are just two games in the NBA this evening. In Boston the Celtics are playing the Lakers, while in the best game of the night Denver is hosting Chicago. The Nuggets are 31-18 while the Bulls are 29-19.
