WASHINGTON --Reports indicate that wide receiver DeSean Jackson, who was let go by the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday, will visit the Redskins on Monday, per a source informed of the team's plans, according to NFL.com.
Dianna Marie Russini of NBC Washington first reported the news.
Jackson was coming off a career-best season in Philadelphia, leading the team with 82 catches for 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns. He has had 356 career receptions for 6,117 yards and 32 touchdowns and is entering his seventh season.
But he had a $10.25 million contract for the 2014 season, a stiff price the Eagles were not willing to pay. He was signed through 2016.
According to the NFL.com report, Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall, responded positively to the news.
Hall told CSN Washington's Tarik El-Bashir on Saturday that signing DJax would "make my year."
"If he's able to come here, man, I'm going to take him under my wing and just try to put him on the right path," Hall said.
The Raiders, Bills and Jets have "varying levels of interest" in Jackson, according to the website. BleedingGreenNation.com reports that at least six teams are showing interest in Jackson.
