MIAMI (AP) -- A Florida prosecutor says the man accused pulling the trigger in the 2007 slaying of Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor confessed fully and should be convicted of murder.
Prosecutor Reid Rubin said in a closing argument Wednesday that 23-year-old Eric Rivera Jr. came clean to police. Rubin says Rivera lied on the witness stand when he testified Tuesday that his statement was coerced and he didn't even go inside Taylor's house that night.
Jurors could begin deliberating Rivera's fate later Wednesday. He faces life in prison if convicted.
Rubin said Taylor was shot by Rivera as he and four others from the Fort Myers area tried to burglarize the Pro Bowl player's home.
One man pleaded guilty and three others will stand trial later.
