Ray Rice files grievance against Ravens

WASHINGTON — Former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has filed a grievance against the team for terminating his contract.

The grievance was filed several weeks ago, according to ESPN.

Rice was cut from the Ravens and suspended indefinitely by the NFL after video surfaced of him punching his then-fiancee in the face.

The NFL initially suspended Rice for two games following the incident, but after the video’s release, the league changed its decision.

He has since appealed the suspension with a hearing set for Nov. 5, 2014.

Rice could receive more than $3.5 million from the Ravens if his grievance and appeal are approved, ESPN reports.
