Detroit’s Waddle ruled out this weekend

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — Detroit Lions offensive tackle LaAdrian Waddle has been ruled out of Sunday’s game at Carolina because of a calf injury.

Waddle started Monday night’s victory over the New York Giants but was hurt in the first half. It was the ninth career start for the 23-year-old lineman out of Texas Tech.

Safety James Ihedigbo missed the opener, and he is doubtful this weekend with a neck injury.

The Lions had to put two players on injured reserve this week: offensive tackle Corey Hilliard with a foot injury and cornerback Bill Bentley with a knee injury.
