NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- The countdown to Super Bowl 47 continues (6:30 p.m. Eastern). The NFC-champion San Francisco 49ers are favored to beat the AFC-champion Baltimore Ravens by more than a field goal.

DETROIT (AP) -- The Lakers are playing without Dwight Howard again. The veteran center is missing today's outing in Detroit with an ailing shoulder that also kept him from playing in Friday's victory at Minnesota.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- No. 12 Louisville can tighten the Big East race if it beats visiting Marquette this afternoon. The 25th-ranked Golden Eagles lead the conference following Syracuse's loss at Pitt on Saturday.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Phil Mickelson is trying to finish off a spectacular week with a record-tying third Phoenix Open victory. He leads by six strokes going into today's final round at TPC Scottsdale.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Sam Querrey (KWEER'-ee) and John Isner (IHZ'-nur) are playing reverse singles for the U.S. Davis Cup team against Brazil. Both won on Friday and one of them needs to win again today for the U.S. to advance to the quarterfinals after a surprise loss yesterday by the top-ranked doubles team of Bob and Mike Bryan.
