Seau's family suing NFL...AP source: Hornets to become Pelicans

UNDATED (AP) -- The family of Junior Seau (SAY'-ow) is suing the NFL, claiming the former All-Pro linebacker's suicide last May was because of a brain disease brought about by the way he played pro football. The wrongful death lawsuit, filed today in California Superior Court, blames the NFL for its "acts or omissions" that led to Seau's death.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- The NHL has suspended Philadelphia Flyers forward Brayden Schenn one game for charging New Jersey Devils defenseman Anton Volchenkov (AN'-tawn vohl-chen-KAHF'). Schenn will miss Thursday's game against the New York Rangers at the Wells Fargo Center and will forfeit $4,702 in one-game salary.
