Boeheim ties Knight...Bobcats end slide...NFL dismissals...NHL negotiations resume

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) -- Jim Boeheim (BAY'-hym) has tied Bob Knight for second on the all-time wins list for men's college basketball. Syracuse's longtime coach picked up career victory 902 with a 96-62 romp over visiting Central Connecticut State. Michael Carter scored a career-high 18 points and added 13 assists to help the seventh-ranked Orange improve to 12-2.

CHICAGO (AP) -- The Charlotte Bobcats have put an end to the second-longest losing streak in team history by winning for the first time in their last 10 road games. The Bobcats had dropped 18 in a row before Kemba Walker delivered 18 points and eight rebounds in a 91-81 triumph at Chicago yesterday. Gerald Henderson added 16 points and reserve Ben Gordon had 15 for Charlotte, which blew a 12-point lead in the third quarter before opening the fourth on a 10-0 run.
