NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Chris Johnson scored on a 94-yard run and Jake Locker scrambled for the go-ahead touchdown as Tennessee beat the Jets 14-10, eliminating the Jets from the playoff chase. Johnson finished with 122 yards on 21 carries to help the Titans improve to 5-9 and drop the Jets to 6-8. Mark Sanchez threw the last of his four interceptions after the two-minute warning and lost a fumble with 25 seconds left and the Jets deep in Tennessee territory.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) -- Jim Boeheim (BAY'-hym) has joined Bob Knight and Mike Krzyzewski (shuh-SHEHF'-skee) as the only coaches in Division I men's basketball to win 900 games. Boeheim reached the milestone when third-ranked Syracuse escaped with a 72-68 win over Detroit at the Carrier Dome. James Southerland had 22 points as the 10-0 Orange extended the nation's longest home winning streak to 30 games.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Reigning NL Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey has agreed to a two-year contract with the Toronto Blue Jays, pending a physical. That sets up a deal in which the New York Mets will send Dickey and catchers Josh Thole (TOH'-lee) and Mike Nickeas (NIK'-ee-uhs) to the Jays for catching prospect Travis d'Arnaud, catcher John Buck and two minor leaguers.
EASTON, Pa. (AP) -- An investigation into Garrett Reid's fatal heroin overdose has found there were steroids in his room the day he died. But a Pennsylvania prosecutor says the investigation found no evidence that the son of Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid was giving the steroids to the team's players. Garrett Reid had been assisting the team's strength and conditioning coach during training camp when he was found dead.
