MIAMI (AP) -- The New York Knicks crushed Miami 112-82 for their fifth straight victory to move a game and a-half ahead of the Heat in the race for best record in the NBA Eastern Conference. Raymond Felton scored a season-high 27 points, and the Knicks connected on 18 3-pointers to win with star Carmelo Anthony sidelined with a hand injury.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) -- Linebacker Manti Te'O (MAN'-ty TAY'-ow) of Notre Dame won the Walter Camp national player of the year award and the Maxwell Award given the nation's most outstanding player. On Saturday night, Te'O will try to become the first defense-only player to win the Heisman Trophy, going up against a couple of quarterbacks in Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel and Kansas State's Collin Klein.
