NEW YORK (AP) -- Tampa Bay lefty David Price beat out Detroit's Justin Verlander in one of the closest-ever votes for the AL Cy Young award. Mets right-hander R.A. Dickey won the NL honor in runaway fashion to become the first knuckleballer to win a Cy Young.

DETROIT (AP) -- The AL champion Detroit Tigers and free agent Torii Hunter have agreed to a two-year contract worth $26 million. The 37-year-old outfielder hit a career-best .313 last season for the Los Angeles Angels with 16 home runs and 92 RBIs.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Washington is the only winless team in the NBA following Detroit's 94-76 victory at Philadelphia that lifted the Pistons to 1-8 on the season. The Wizards dropped a 107-101 decision at Dallas, falling to 0-7.

OLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Memphis ended Oklahoma City's five-game NBA winning streak with a testy 107-97 road win. Zach Randolph of the Grizzlies and the Thunder's Kendrick Perkins were ejected after a late-game altercation.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -- Week 11 of the NFL season kicks off tonight on the shores of Lake Erie, with Buffalo preparing to take on AFC East-rival Miami. The Dolphins are second in the division standings with a 4-5 record, two games behind the New England Patriots. The Bills are 3-6.
