McCoy set to start for Redskins with RG3 inactive

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Washington quarterback Colt McCoy is set for his first NFL start in almost three years at the site of the former Texas star’s final college game in his home state.

Robert Griffin III, out since Week 2 with a dislocated ankle, is inactive Monday night at Dallas. McCoy replaced Kirk Cousins at halftime in Week 7 and led a comeback win over Tennessee.

McCoy’s Longhorns beat Nebraska for the 2009 Big 12 championship on the Cowboys’ home field. His last NFL start was Dec. 8, 2011, for Cleveland against Pittsburgh.

Rookie linebacker Trent Murphy will get his first start for the Redskins in place of Brian Orakpo, out for the season after tearing a pectoral muscle against the Titans.
