CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — An investigator with access to more witnesses and records than any previous probe of academic fraud at the University of North Carolina is set to reveal what he found.

Former high-ranking U.S. Justice Department official Kenneth Wainstein on Wednesday will describe his findings. Previous investigations by the NCAA and school officials have found problems in the school’s Department of African and Afro-American Studies, which was popular with athletes.

A 2012 probe by former Gov. Jim Martin placed no blame on the school’s athletic department, but shortcomings were later discovered in the report.

The school’s board of trustees and the board that oversees the state’s university system are holding a closed-door meeting to review Wainstein findings.
