Ravens, Wizards, GW live on WFED Radio

WASHINGTON – A busy week of live play-by-play on Federal News Radio will see six games airing over the next seven days. Among the broadcasts are four NCAA basketball games, one NBA game and one NFL game.

  • Monday, Nov. 26, 7 p.m. – George Washington vs. Mt. St. Mary’s (1500AM): The GW Colonials (2-2) look to climb above .500 for the first time this season as they face the Mount (1-3) Monday night at the Charles E. Center..

    GW is seeking its first two-game winning streak of the season following Saturday’s 80-56 win over Hofstra- the largest margin of victory since Jan.2, 2011. Pregame coverage for the Colonials-Mount matchup begins at 6:45 with play-by-play voice Byron Kerr. The game will also be available online at WFED.com

  • Wednesday Nov. 28, 7 p.m. – George Washington @ James Madison (1500AM): The Colonials visit Harrisonburg, VA. Wednesday for their third game in five nights as they face the JMU Dukes (1-4) for the second straight season. The Colonials fell to JMU 62-57 last year in D.C.

    Pregame coverage begins at 6:45 p.m. with play-by-play voice Byron Kerr. The game will be available online at WFED.com

  • Friday, Nov. 30, 7:30 p.m. – Wizards @ Knicks (1500AM): The Wizards (0-11, through Sunday) seek their first road win of the season as they visit the Knicks (9-3, through Sunday) Friday night in New York.

    The Knicks are off to their best start in 19 years (they went on to reach the NBA Finals during that 1993-94 season) while the Wizards have experienced their worst start in franchise history. While the Wizards enter play 0-6 on the road this season, the Knicks have yet to lose at home this year going 5-0 at Madison Square Garden. Pregame coverage Friday night begins at 7:15 with Dave Johnson and Glenn Consor.

  • Saturday, Dec. 1, 4 p.m. – Navy @ Tulane (1500AM): The Midshipmen (3-4, through Sunday) visit the Tulane Green Wave (4-2, through Sunday) next Saturday in New Orleans, LA. These schools met last Nov. 22- a 57-55 Tulane win at Alumni Hall in Annapolis, MD.

    Extended pregame coverage begins at 2:45 p.m. with the Navy Coaches Show. The game will also air online at WFED.com with play-by- play voice Pete Medhurst.

  • Sunday, Dec. 2, 12:15 p.m. – George Washington vs. Manhattan (WFED 1500AM): The Colonials will once again be taking part in the BB&T Classic from Verizon Center, a fixture on the D.C. basketball calendar. The 18th annual BB&T Classic will feature a college hoops doubleheader beginning with the Colonials and Jaspers at 12:15 p.m., followed by Maryland and George Mason.

    The GW-Manhattan game will be broadcast live on 1500AM (and online at WFED.com) beginning with pregame coverage at Noon. The Colonials are looking to snap a two-game losing streak at the BB&T Classic and have lost four of their last five games at the BB&T overall dating back to 2007.

  • Sunday Dec. 2, 4:25 p.m. – Ravens vs. Pittsburgh (WFED 1500AM): The Ravens (9- 2) seek their fifth straight win as they return to M&T Bank Stadium to face the Steelers (6-5) for the second time in three weeks.

    The Ravens beat the Steelers 13-10, Nov. 18 in Pittsburgh for their league-best 12th straight win within the division. Baltimore is also looking to remain perfect at home this season where it has so far gone 5-0 in 2012.

    Pregame coverage begins at 3:55 with play-by-play voice Gerry Sandusky, color analyst Qadry Ismail and sideline reporter Stan White.
