Va. higher education council hosts research summit

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia is hosting a summit to promote academic research.

The council says the summit also will showcase of exemplary public-private partnerships among universities and the private sector.

The summit will be held Monday at the Omni Richmond Hotel in Richmond.

Speakers include Gov. Terry McAuliffe, Northrop Grumman Technical Services president Christopher Jones and Reginald Brothers, who is undersecretary for science and technology with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
