CULPEPER, Va. (AP) -- Germana Community College has proposed replacing its Locust Grove Campus building in Orange County with a new $25 million facility.
The existing facility opened in October 1970. It's located off Route 3 between Culpeper and Fredericksburg.
President David A. Sam tells The Star Exponent (http://bit.ly/QrcHDZ ) that the new three-story facility would be more energy efficient and will occupy less land.
The facility would house classrooms, offices, labs and a virtual hospital with an operating room, birthing area, intensive care unit, and pediatric ward.
Sam says the project ranks No. 9 on the top 25 priority list of requests for the Virginia Community College System.
Germanna serves about 13,000 students.
