VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - A Virginia Beach high school football coach has been suspended two games after school officials learned minors drank alcohol at a party at his home.
The Virginian-Pilot (http://bit.ly/1dt9Vq4) reports Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School Principal Dennis W. Price wrote to the school's advisory board that Carl Turner hosted a party last week. Turner found a bottle of vodka and poured it out, then called the parents of two students who became sick.
Price says Turner notified athletic director Corey Mistretta the next morning. Turner indicated he didn't see anyone drinking and wouldn't have allowed it. The coach believed the two students were the only ones drinking.
Price says an investigation turned up more students who were drinking and that the suspension was for Turner's failure in not being more vigilant.
