HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) -- Faye Gilbert is returning to the University of Southern Mississippi in July to become dean of the College of Business.
Gilbert earned her undergraduate and master's degrees in business administration at USM. The state College Board must approve the appointment.
Gilbert currently is dean of the College of Business and Economics at Radford (Va.) University.
She replaces Lance Nail, who left USM accept a similar position at Texas Tech University last August.
Gilbert was one of four finalists brought to campus in January and February.
Gilbert, a native of Ocean Springs, Miss., received her doctorate from North Texas University in 1988.
Before accepting her current post at Radford, Gilbert served as dean of the business school at Georgia College and State University.
