SEATTLE (AP) - The Seattle police department is taking the cautionary step of increasing patrols around schools Friday, after gunman killed children and adults at a Connecticut elementary school.
A post on the department's blog says there have been no threats to area schools. But it says it's important to show visibility to reassure families and faculty concerned for safety.
The department says a number of people have called police asking what steps they're taking to increase extra security.
