NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Tidewater Community College has selected its fifth president, a 15-year veteran of community colleges.
Edna Baehre-Kolovani, head of Napa Valley College in California, will start on July 1.
The 63-year-old Baehre-Kolovani has been superintendent and president of Napa Valley College since 2010. She also has held leadership positions in community colleges in New York and Illinois and was president of Harrisburg Area Community College in Pennsylvania for 13 years before taking the Napa Valley job.
She succeeds Deborah M. DiCroce, who left the post after 14 years to head the Hampton Roads Community Foundation.
TCC has campuses in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach. It said it served 46,000 students in 2010-11.
