WASHINGTON (AP) — A law enforcement official says an FBI agent has been detained in Pakistan after he was found to be in possession of ammunition while trying to board a domestic flight in the country.

The official says that the agent appears to have made a mistake and that there’s no indication he was trying to carry bullets aboard the plane. The official says authorities are hopeful the situation will be resolved soon with the agent’s release.

The official, who did not provide the agent’s name or age, spoke on condition of anonymity because of the diplomatic sensitivities of the case.

The official said the agent was in Pakistan as part of a multi-agency, anti-corruption program.
