WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Karl Rove-backed super PAC says it raised more than $5 million in March and has $6.3 million available as it starts to pick races where it will run ads to help Republicans.
The American Crossroads super PAC reported Monday that it spent about $600,000 in March, including for ads in Senate races in Alaska and North Carolina, as well as the special House election that month in Florida. The group also says it raised almost all of its cash for the first three months of the year in March.
American Crossroads chief Steven Law says donors have started opening their wallets again because they see a pathway for Republicans to win control of the Senate. To do so, Republicans need a net gain of six seats.
