WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama is stopping by a reunion of former ambassadors appointed during his administration.
Obama made the unannounced stop Friday evening, shortly after returning to Washington from a day trip to Michigan. The event is being held at a hotel near the White House.
White House officials didn't say which former ambassadors were attending, and there was no press coverage of the event.
According to the American Foreign Service Association, 282 people have been confirmed as ambassadors during Obama's presidency.
