BALTIMORE (AP) -- Baltimore police say the body found in the water near Fells Point is that of an airman with the D.C. Air National Guard who went missing last week.
Police said Thursday that divers with the department's marine unit removed the body of 29-year-old Airman 1st Class Evan Curbeam from the water at the Inner Harbor Wednesday afternoon.
Curbeam was reported missing Saturday after being out with friends the night before in Fells Point.
Curbeam had served in the Air National Guard for two years. He was a fulltime employee at Joint Base Andrews in the munitions section of the 113th Maintenance Squadron.
He had recently been selected as the D.C. Air National Guard's Airman of the Year.
