RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- A ceremony in Richmond will honor Virginia airmen killed while serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II.
The ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday at the Virginia War Memorial. A plaque listing the names of 16 fallen airmen will be dedicated.
Aluminum from a fighter plane shot down during the war and recovered in 1997 was used to cast the Virginia state seal and the Royal Canadian Air Force crest on the plaque.
