ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- Former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is set to tour a gun show in upstate New York this weekend.
It'll be the first one she has visited since she survived an assassination attempt in 2011.
Giffords and husband Mark Kelly will tour the Saratoga Springs Arms Fair on Sunday with New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman (SHNEYE'-dur-muhn). They plan to highlight a voluntary agreement that closely monitors gun show sales in New York.
Giffords and Kelly have been campaigning nationwide for expanded background checks for gun sales.
Schneiderman has worked with all 35 gun show operators in New York to adopt stringent new rules to track sales. Schneiderman also has a staff member at each gun show to work with operators to monitor compliance with the state's new gun control law.
