WASHINGTON -- The Secret Service has charged a driver with stabbing two people near the Georgetown waterfront.
Secret Service spokesman Max Milien says uniformed officers on routine patrol in the 3000 block of K Street came across the incident on Sunday evening and arrested a man.
The area is home to at least a dozen embassies within a mile of the stabbing.
Authorities say the man, Yohannes Deresses, has been charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. There's no information about the victims' conditions or what led to the stabbing.
