WASHINGTON - Are you a spooner? Or maybe a back-to-backer or a hogger of the whole bed?
Relationships are tested by busy schedules, stressful jobs and demanding home lives. But what does the position you sleep in say about the state of your relationship?
A new study conducted by Travelodge Hotels provides some clues.
Spooning is a traditional position in which the male takes the lead and becomes the protector. Sleeping back-to-back would seem harmful to a relationship, but it's the most popular sleep position and shows that couples are content and comfortable yet still independent. If you need more space than your partner and hog the bed you need to have your own way.
Lustful new lovers entwine while sleeping and then find a more comfortable position as the relationship progresses and trust and comfort settles in.
Half of those couples who answered the survey are considering sleeping separately, not because of a lack of love but simply from a lack of a good night of sleep.
