Companies look to millennials to bridge the technology gap

Thursday - 5/29/2014, 4:59am  ET

WASHINGTON -- Call it a generation gap or the digital divide, but the skill sets of baby boomers and millennials can be very different.

The Wall Street Journal reports more companies are working to bridge the divide by pairing young workers with strong social media skills with older workers.

At MasterCard, where employees born after 1980 make up 37 percent of the workforce, the chief human resources officer was paired up with a 24-year-old who has been active on social networks for a decade, the Journal reports.
