Tiny car takes guesswork out of parallel parking

WASHINGTON – A new car could put an end to big-city parallel parking woes.

The Hiriko is a tiny vehicle made to seat two people and designed specifically for car-sharing programs like Car2go and Zipcar.

The New York Times reports there are three versions of Hiriko: the Fold, the Alai and a small truck called the Laga.

The Fold has the unique feature of being able to actually fold up to better fit into small parking spaces. Three Folds can fit into the space of one regular car, shrinking from 8 feet to 5 feet.

The Fold is slated to go on sale in 2013 for $16,400.
