HAMPTON, Va. (AP) — Gov. Terry McAuliffe says Liberty-Source PBC plans to open an operation at Fort Monroe that will create nearly 600 jobs.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe said Wednesday in a news release that the company will invest about $1.5 million in the operation at the former Army base in Hampton. The operation will employ 596 workers.

Liberty-Source PBC provides finance, accounting, human resources, customer care and other support services to clients. The company seeks to employ military spouses.

President and CEO Steve Hosley says in the release that there are more than 30,000 active military members in the greater Hampton Roads area.

McAuliffe approved a $300,000 grant from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund to assist Hampton with the project.
