Whether you agree with it or not, the Department of Energy and its decisions have a significant amount of influence over the direction the United States energy sector heads. With a new Secretary of Energy prepared to lead the energy focused arm of the government, conference members were all ears when Ernest Moniz opened the latest EIA Energy Conference earlier this week.

As he laid out his plan for our country's energy horizon, nuclear played an expected role, given the former MIT professor's background.
