Super Micro Computer Misses on Revenues but Beats on EPS

Super Micro Computer reported earnings on April 23. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.23. The four earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ anticipated $0.20 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.23 for Q3 were 21% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.19 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.16 were the same as the prior-year quarter.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 14.0%, 300 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 2.0%, 200 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 2.5%, 40 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)

Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $311.6 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.24.
