NXP Semiconductors Crushes Earnings Estimates

NXP Semiconductors reported earnings on April 23. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.72. The 14 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.49 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.72 for Q1 were 279% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.19 per share. GAAP EPS were -$0.06 for Q1 against -$0.10 per share for the prior-year quarter.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 44.5%, 70 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 10.0%, 400 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was -1.3%, 120 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $1.13 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.62.
