Most expensive Metro stops for apartment rents

Proximity to Metro is coveted by apartment renters and they often pay a premium for that close-by access.

Apartment rental app RadPad crunched the numbers to see which Washington-area Metro stops command the highest apartment rents, and Foggy Bottom tops the list, with the average rent in September for a one-bedroom apartment at $2,723 a month.

Dupont Circle ranked as second-most-expensive, with the average monthly rent for a one-bedroom close to the Metro of $2,443. Mt. Vernon Square, where the majority of rentals are newly constructed luxury units, ranks No. 3, with an average one-bedroom rent of $2,402 a month.

The most affordable average one-bedroom rent near a Metro stop is Congress Heights, at $1,041 a month.
