Bureau of Labor Statistics: More women in tech jobs

New data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics suggest that tech companies are hiring more women, according to the New York Times.

According to the bureau’s data, the net change in the number of female employees in tech jobs was 36,000 – or around 60 percent.

The bureau defines net change as the number of new employees and those who left.

Women still appear to make up less than half of all new hires in the tech industry.
