Landmark Theatres to open 10-screen NoMa movie theater

Landmark Theatres, the owner of the E Street Cinema in downtown D.C. and the Bethesda Row Cinema in Bethesda, will bring a 10-screen movie theater to the District’s NoMa neighborhood.

The 31,000-square foot theater will be part of the The JBG Cos. Capitol Point development at New York Avenue and N Street NE. Capitol Point will also include a 200-room Hyatt Place hotel, 600 residential units and 1 million square feet of office space.

“We are dedicated to increasing our footprint in the Washington, D.C. market,” Landmark Theatres’ CEO and President, Ted Mundorff,” said in a statement. “Capitol Point in NoMa is a perfect location to serve not only NoMa but the underserved Capitol Hill area.”

The complex will have even more amenities than the E Street theater, with a full bar, luxury reclining seats, reserved seating and a 3-D projection option.

The theater will anchor the retail portion of the development, which includes a total of 75,000 square feet.
