MyEyeDr. launches major expansion

MyEyeDr. has begun a major expansion throughout the Washington area and beyond.

The Vienna-based vision care company, which now has 46 locations in the Washington and Baltimore regions, plans to add 15 to 20 stores in the Washington area by the end of the year and at least one store in a new state, said David Sheffer, executive vice president for corporate development.

A December infusion of capital from Boston private equity group Monitor Clipper Partners LLC — the amount is still undisclosed — will enable the retailer to expand to 200 locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
