SEC filing: McLean software firm LogiXML raises $10M

Business intelligence software vendor LogiXML Inc. has closed a $10 million venture round, according to documents filed Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The raise comes three years after Logi notched $3 million financing round from Vienna-based Grotech Ventures. Grotech is named in the most recent filing, along with Updata Partners – also a prior investor — and Red Hat Inc.

The funds will presumably go toward ramping up the software firm’s already ambitious growth plans. The company couldn’t immediately be reached for comment. But when I spoke with Logi’s chief marketing officer, Ken Chow, in March., he expected the company would expand both its technical and sales staff this year and possibly take on new space at its 7900 Westpark Drive headquarters.

LogiXML helps corporate and government clients manage, understand and present raw data in a usable format – a field dubbed business intelligence. You might recognize its work helping Virginia monitor federal stimulus spending.
