Bill to expand Airports Authority moves forward

The makeup of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Board of Directors may soon change, once Congress finalizes passage of a spending bill this week, FairfaxTimes.com reported.

U.S. Rep. Frank Wolf’s bill increases the size of the board from 13 to 17 members and make changes to how board members are appointed. It was rolled into the so-called “minibus” spending bill that is needed to continue funding multiple federal agencies. The House of Representatives and Senate are expected to vote on final passage of the bill by the end of this week, according to Wolf’s office, FairfaxTimes.com reports.
