Events D.C. finalizes lease agreement at Carnegie Library

Events D.C. has finalized a lease agreement at the former Carnegie Library building in Mount Vernon Square, which will allow the Historical Society of Washington, D.C., to remain at the facility and could eventually lead to the creation of a visitor’s center there as well.

Events D.C., the city’s convention and sports arm, has executed an 88-year lease at 801 K St. NW. Under the arrangement, Events D.C. will occupy 80 percent of the building, using it, in part, for a visitor’s center, as well as for special events. Meanwhile, the Historical Society will keep its headquarters, and Kiplinger Research Library and exhibit galleries will remain there as well.
