BISSAU, Guinea-Bissau (AP) -- Authorities in Guinea-Bissau have interrogated a well-known political commentator after he publicly criticized the country's powerful military.
Justino Sa angered the army over the weekend when he made critical comments to a private radio station about how the number of officers in Guinea-Bissau's military is greater than the number of soldiers serving.
The analysis came after the country's armed forces chief was recently promoted to a four-star general.
Sa now faces the possibility of criminal charges after Wednesday's interrogation, as authorities are accusing him of giving false information.
Guinea-Bissau's military plays a powerful role in national politics in the tiny, coup-prone nation. The last power grab took place in April 2012 and the country still remains under the control of a transitional government.
