CAIRO (AP) - In a story Sept. 1, The Associated Press reported that a government study cited by the waste management expert Laila Iskandar put the recycling rate at 3 percent. The story should have clarified that 3 percent is the rate of recycling by government and private companies nationwide without factoring in recycling by traditional collectors known as zabbaleen.
