WASHINGTON — What appeared to begin as a routine traffic stop in New Mexico escalated into a car chase that ended with a mother and her 14-year-old son confronting police.
A video obtained by CBS News shows a woman driving a minivan filled with kids who refuses to stop when pulled over by police. She yells at the officer, and tries to get back into the car.
The video also shows the woman’s son jumping out of the car and arguing with officials.
Eventually, police begin to shoot at the car as the woman attempts to drive away.
The minivan driver is facing felony charges and her 14-year-old son is charged with attacking a state trooper.
