WASHINGTON – It’s the season for giving, and at least one Northeastern city is applying that to parking fines.
Boston drivers can now pay off non-public safety tickets issued between Nov. 29 and Dec. 1 by turning in toys instead of cash during the 19th annual “Toys for Tickets” campaign, Boston.com reports.
Non-violent, unwrapped toys must be of equal or greater value than the ticket, and will be given to children in need.
Mayor Thomas M. Menino founded the program in 1993, his first year in office.
